Frequently asked questions.

Short answers – everything else in a call.

What does a freelance German patent paralegal do?

A freelance Patentanwaltsfachangestellter is an externally engaged specialist who handles IP formalities: filings, deadlines, fees and office correspondence for patents, trademarks and designs. Law firms and IP departments book this service by the hour or by project – legal advice and representation remain with the attorneys.

Do you work remotely or on site?

Remotely only – via a secure connection (VPN / remote desktop) directly in your systems; all data stays with you. You need to provide neither a desk nor equipment, and I am ready to start without travel or technical lead time. For coordination I am available by video and phone at any time.

How is confidentiality handled?

Under German law, firms may involve external specialists as “contributing persons” if these are bound to secrecy in writing (Section 203(3) of the German Criminal Code). That is exactly how I work: before looking at a single file, I sign your confidentiality undertaking or NDA – and am then subject to the same criminally sanctioned duty of secrecy as your own staff. I work exclusively in your systems; client data is never copied to outside servers.

Can we check references?

Yes. On request, I will put you in touch with current clients – patent law firms in Munich. I am equally happy to send you employment references and certificates.

What is the minimum engagement?

Typical arrangements are fixed contingents from 5 hours per week, or clearly scoped projects; short-notice cover is possible with some lead time, depending on capacity. I will give you concrete terms in the intro call – openly and bindingly.

Who is my contract with?

Your contracting party is Accelari GmbH, Munich (Commercial Register: Munich Local Court, HRB 246059) – owner-managed by the person who also does the work. For you this means one fixed case handler throughout the entire engagement, no staff rotation on your matters – all work in your files is done by me personally.

What happens if you are unavailable?

Deadlines are docketed exclusively in your docketing system – nothing sits only with me, and your firm retains full visibility at all times. I announce absences early and hand over in an orderly fashion.

What do you explicitly not take on?

Legal advice and legal representation. My work is administrative support – legal responsibility and external representation remain with your attorneys.

A conversation, not a sales pitch.

30 minutes, no obligation. Afterwards you will know whether it fits – and so will I.
